Addiction involves compulsive behaviors that dominate a person’s behaviors, feelings and choices in life. Imagine all we have are moments – to fill up with purpose, life and meaning.
Addiction of any kind hijacks those moments and supplants them with its own voice and motivation – to use, get high, retreat, etc.
A life driven by addictive choices means we can’t really move forward and realize our potential to succeed, create happiness and evolve.
Addictive patterns and energy, however, are convincing. We often fear moving beyond the familiar and into the unknown. Yet the path, or any truly vibrant, meaningful path, means we become, realize and grow.
So transformation is about leaving behind patterns that fail us, that take our moments and kill them and imprison us in a world of meaningless pursuit. We cease to live.
